    Nairobi, 6 November 2014- On 6 October, the magistrate at the Malindi Law Courts denied the application for bail pending appeal of human rights defender Joel Ogada. Kenyan human rights defender Joel Ogada has faced multiple charges in several court cases. In the latest case (criminal case 41/2013), Ogada has been charged with arson and has been convicted to seven years  imprisonment, following a ruling made on 16 May 2014. [...]

Education and training for defenders is a broad subject with different needs. One of them is security. With this online course, we aim at helping defenders developing various skills, capacities and strategies to allow them to improve their level of security and protection.

Duration: 60 hours over 3 months (5 hours/week).

Languages: Spanish and English already started. French to come.
