Our latest publication on the protection of human rights defenders was developed from field research conducted by Protection International (PI) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
With nearly 10 years of experience working with human rights defenders in the DRC, the PI DRC team has used this expertise to develop an up-to-date approach to protection practices in the region. The result is a practical protection handbook that builds on our New Protection Handbook from 2009, while including both a gender dimension and a dimension of the psychological well-being of human rights defenders. This practical protection manual has been designed as a guide that can be used by any defender or community of defenders.
This manual is available in French, Kiswahili, Lingala, Kikongo and Tshiluba.
